Remote Learning
Bourne Education Trust – Remote Education: Information for Parents
At Epsom Primary School we want every pupil to continue learning—even when they cannot be in school.
1. When school is closed or attendance is restricted
Our aim is that pupils continue learning and stay connected to school during any disruption.
If pupils cannot attend school because of a closure or limits on numbers, we will:
- Provide high quality remote learning that follows the normal curriculum as closely as possible.
- Use familiar online platforms to share lessons, activities, and resources.
- Include a mix of live sessions, recorded lessons, and independent tasks suited to pupils’ ages.
- Keep regular contact with pupils and families to support learning and wellbeing.
- Offer help if pupils need access to devices or printed materials.
2. When an individual pupil cannot attend
If a pupil is unable to come to school—for example due to long term illness, recovery from a medical procedure, or other authorised reasons—but is well enough to learn, we will:
- Provide suitable work so they can keep up with their learning.
- Adjust expectations based on their health and circumstances.
- Offer regular communication to support their progress.
- Follow our procedures if they are absent for 15 days or more due to medical needs, which may include help from the local authority’s medical education team.
