Nursery celebrate HOLI Festival
This week during Welly Wednesday nursery & First Steps children celebrated the Hindu festival of HOLI.
Holi which is also called the 'festival of colours' is celebrated to mark the end of winter and celebrate the coming of spring, it is also celebrated to commemorate the good harvest. Holi is a 2 day festival, on the first night people will gather around bonfires signifying good triumphing over evil. On the second day coloured powders are thrown at each other, as well as the sharing of sweets, singing and dancing!
As you can see the children had a great time out on the field covering each other and their teachers in the paint!
