A huge thank you to our whole school community for your support with CIN last week. As a school we managed to raise £460.24 inclusive of the cake sale which raised £111. Pudsey was on hand to greet all the children as the arrived to school and everyone looked fantastic in their yellow & spotty mufti and their crazy hair!
This month Epsom Primary hosted a More Able Maths Workshop for our students and students from other local primary schools. The EPS concert band performed at the Albert Hall this month for the Music for Youth Remix Prom. They were among 2000 young people participating in the event and had to learn special music for the occasion. It was fantastic experience for all involved!
Year 2 have been learning all about Nairobi, Kenya. They have been comparing it to London and seeing the things that are the same and different. It has come at a great time in the school year as they have also been celebrating Black History alongside it. Welly Wednesdays is now in full swing! Every Wednesday our Nursery children enjoy a day full of outside learning with Forest School on the field. A great time is had bringing Maths & English outside, learning new skills, planting, swinging, running and getting muddy!
The children from Epsom Primary did brilliantly in the recent Cross Country Event. Liam O'Reilly finished first place and Charlie Carter finished in third. The boys finished 2nd overall and our top finisher for the girls was Fiona Wong who came in 10th place. Well done everyone who took part!
On Wednesday 29th September we celebrated the wonderful diversity of Epsom Primary with our International Day & Evening! During the day the children were invited to dress in their national dress and all learning that day was based around different culture, traditions & inclusivity. In the evening we had a lovely party! Our Reception team ran a Phonics Workshop for new parents to the school. Parents came along and found out how we teach phonics in reception and then spent some time with their children playing some of the phonics games & activities.
Year 2 enjoyed a brilliant day in the sunshine at Wisley Gardens learning all about how things grow! They all came home with their own corn flowers to take care of at home and great fun was had by all.
