On 17th June, Year 3 took an exciting trip to Butser Ancient Farm. The children enjoyed a variety of workshops learning all about The Romans. They began the day with a talk in the Roman Villa before starting their activities. They were then able to try different Roman activities, including archaeology, pottery and jewellery making. The year group also took part in a 'Portals to the Past' workshop at school last week too, for further interactive learning. Photos below: #year3
Our Year 5 pupils got the chance to participate in a fascinating and immersive workshop to further their learnings on The Maya Civilisation. They learnt about the people, religion and culture of this ancient civilisation and consider what eventually led to it's collapse in 900 AD. "I enjoyed looking at artefacts. I also liked learning about their board games and throwing the dart at the target." "I really loved the Maya workshop, especially when the teacher got sacrificed!" #
Last week, Year 3 went back in time to the Stone Age at Buster Farm.
In class, we have been learning about the Stone Age, Bronze Age and Iron Age, thinking about how the earliest humans survived.

Last week, EPS celebrated International Day!
This year we celebrated our amazingly diverse school community. During International Day, the children were invited to: - Wear traditional dress or ‘colours’ from their own country. - Celebrate Black History Month while learning about those individuals who have made an impact on society. - Take part in a workshop where the children will learn a song/dance from a specific country. Year 6 classes recently visited Henley Fort. They got to take part in a range of World War Two activities including becoming a Home Guard and an ARP Warden.
