Year 4 took part in another virtual music collaboration project with four other schools, led by City of London Freemen's School's very own Musician and Composer, Timothy Peters. During the spring term, the Freemen's Music Partnership lessons looked at the different elements that make up music around the world, and the role played by music in society. Over the past half term children in Year 4 have been taking part in a music project (virtually) led by City of London Freemen's. We received some fantastic pieces of art from our pupils entering Mrs Reynolds' Art Competition. The pupils were instructed to create a piece of art inspired by nature and to let their imagination run WILD! There were two categories to choose from: REAL LIFE – using the more traditional approach of paints, pastels, acrylics, pens or pencil.

The EPS concert band have had a very successful start to the year. 13 children from years four and five took up the opportunity to learn an instrument and join the ever growing band.
On Thursday 28th November, the children played at the Spirit of Christmas in Epsom, entertaining the crowds with a fantastic range of Christmas tunes.
They also finished the term by performing in front of the school and their families in an assembly last week.

On Tuesday 3rd December some of our Y4-Y6 choir performed three songs as part of the Rainbow Trust Christmas concert at St.Nicholas church in Bookham.
The EPS choir have supported the Rainbow Trust for the past 4 years and it is important to hear about the work that they do supporting families with very sick children. There is a lot of creativity going on at our school and music, dance and singing has had such a positive affect on all of the pupils. EPS have had a very musical few weeks! Reception pupils enjoyed their very own private piano performance from Lucy (Year 5, Jaguars) who is a Grade 6 pianist. She played them two pieces of music that were very different. The children listened really carefully to the music and thought about how the music made them feel.
