Parent's Zone
There are many different ways in which parents can support the school. Parents are warmly welcomed to help in classes in a variety of ways – help in areas such as listening to children read, cooking, assisting on outings etc is always appreciated. Questionnaires and forums are also used to gather parental views on how to improve the school. If you wish to contribute in any way, please contact your child’s Class teacher.
Parents are kept up-to-date with events happening in school via the fortnightly Newsletter, which is sent home on a Friday.
Home School Partnership
All parents are invited to sign a Home School Agreement which states both what parents should expect from the school and what the school expects from parents. This ensures a full and active partnership that supports the well-being and development of each child. In particular, parents are asked to support the school’s Homework Policy which we have included for you in our brochure.
Equal Opportunities
We aim to value each pupil as an individual and to provide a happy, caring, safe and secure environment where there is respect for others. We are a multicultural, multi-racial school community and aim to promote an inclusive society through education. Direct or indirect discrimination is unacceptable in our school community and this applies not only to pupils and staff, but also to governors and parents. The school opposes all forms of unlawful and unfair discrimination. In the school environment, this principally includes discrimination on the grounds of sex, race, colour, religion, nationality, ethnic or national origins, sexual orientation, physical disability, sensory impairment and learning disability.
Annual Celebrations
You will be invited to join us to share our celebrations during the year which are presented by the children. We do encourage parents to attend to watch their children perform and perhaps develop unknown talents on the stage!
During the year, each class holds their own assembly to which parents are warmly welcomed.
