Governors
GOVERNING BODY
The Governing Body of Epsom Primary School works as a team, with the Headteacher, to manage the school. They are responsible for making sure the school provides good quality education. Governors encourage effective ways of teaching and learning by setting the school aims and policies. They work very closely with the Headteacher, who is responsible for the day to day running of the school. The Governing Body:
- Is accountable for the performance of the school to parents and the wider community.
- Plans the school’s future direction.
- Makes decisions on the school’s budget and staffing.
- Makes sure the curriculum is broad, balanced and relevant.
- Decides how the school can encourage pupils’ spiritual, moral and cultural development.
- Monitors how the school provides for all its pupils including those with special educational needs.
Governors are at the heart of how the school operates.
